A literary classic this book is not. But a good read none the less. As a fan of Iggy Pop, The Doors and general rock n roll mayhem I am probably biased but i found Sugerman's tale to be a whole lotta hedonistic fun. Mindless, shallow and trashy but a great waste of time with some wild tales of excess. Turn off your snobbish side and enjoy

This is Chandler's "Hollywood" book. I always like these books, but they all sort of pale in comparison to The Long Goodbye and The Big Sleep, which are his best two. I think I have read all of his Marlowe novels but two..

I liked this book. Full of good characters and Irish mannerisms. (Of course, I kept picturing Minnie Driver and Chris O'Donnell in my mind's eye as I read, but oh well....)
