This novel is the story of a family and a town, tracing the fall from magnificence of the Amberson family, which coincides with the growth and industrialization of the town.
it took me 6 months to read (i got distracted), but it only took william faulkner 6 weeks to write it (while he was working at a power plant.) it is tragic, darkly comic, incoherent and illuminating...haunting. maybe makes my list of my top 3 favorite books of all time.
