Interesting characters but, like many books from well-known authors these days, the story could have used a good editor.

Better than the first one. It's fun reading this series. The author has a knack for slowly destroying everyone's lives and throwing them into an impossibly hopeless predicament, and then bringing everything together in the end in such a way that you see that everything that happened worked together for the greater good, and what seemed a horrible catastrophe, was simply a necessary step towards a glorious conclusion.
