I did finish this book, though it was hard for me. The main character, Sam, was amusing for a short time as he continued to bumble his way through life, but when it got important, like with the police investigating him for more fires he didn't do, he didn't share the evidence that could have exonerated him. I just wanted to hunt down Sam Pulsiver and punch him. Sam was written to be an intelligent person and though a bumbler, he still should have had the sense to save himself from danger. I might check out other books by Brock Clarke because the writing style was enjoyable and he has some real gems of insight. But this one would not be worth reading, unless you enjoy spending time with people who ruin their life and the lives of everyone close to them.
