This novel of the Plague in England was interesting. It gave me an entirely different perspective on this momentous event in history that most authors just mention. From the viewpoint of someone who is quarantined in a village rotting of plague, Brooks is able to bring to life the stories of villagers effected by this deadly illness. Sad, empowering, and sometimes extremely depressing, this book charts the path of the plague through a small village and documents their struggles and successes in their fight for survival. I found it a good read.

first of all, I love the cover art. it really fits the story and its just beautiful. 4.5 stars to this. this is the kind of story that you love partly because it made you cry. its a beautiful romance that comes to a tragic end. I loved how it was written and the idea behind the story was very original.
