This book was OK, but not wonderful. I am not really familiar with the Girl Genius comics, but this book still did not meet my expectations. I don't know, from the title, the cover, and the description I had really high expectations. For some reason, I imagined it would be humorous throughout and it had a few amusing parts (the Jaegermonsters were the best), but was not on the whole a humorous book. The steampunk setting was great, but the plot was hard to follow at certain points. And the ending was disappointing. It was very rushed and there is obviously going to be a sequel, which I had not realized going into it (at least I HOPE there is going to be a sequel -- nothing is really ended). Agatha did not really meet my expectations either -- her character seemed a bit inconsistent. The other characters seem a little flat as well. Anyway, it was a fun read despite its flaws, but just not what I was hoping for. If you go into it looking for a more serious, quick, steampunk novel, you may like what you get.
I actually knew the perpetrator in this one.
