Some may find this depressing, but I found it raw and beautiful, and I loved being surprised by the open sexuality and the issues of women's roles in society. This book was published at the turn of the century (1899), so these are topics that would have been rather radical during its time (which is probably why it wasn't very popular when it was first published). I recommend it.

More, more, more. Arg, I want the next book now. Sigh...
