I learned a lot, which is one reason I adore Sarah Vowell. Alas, the lack of chapter breaks (or even page breaks for that matter) lent itself to some confusion and lack of organization. (It didn't help that I went through the book at a snail's pace.) There was a LOT more history, a lot less personal anecdotal hilarity. Wah. I wanted more of her nephew, Owen! I want Sarah to be my aunt.

I read this at age 11. The most complete and amazing fantasy work ever created.

Really liked the start of this, but it kind of fell apart at the end.
