I bought this to cover the illustrations with pictures of Coco and make it her special personalized book, but Sallie insists that I read it 2-10 times each day. (It's short AND cute!) So it might have to be Sallie's special book. The child in the story dresses up like a pirate, and is just what mama needs to help her "swab the deck." Then she changes costumes every day, but is always "A detective! Just what I need . . .to help me find the missing socks!" Before I start the book I say the names of the days of the week, then the book reinforces by saying, "On Monday Abby wore" or "on Tuesday Abby wore" As a bonus, the author lives in Pleasant Grove just minutes from our home!

I can't say enough good things about this book. It has just the right amount of everything to keep the reader involved. I loved how it went from the Middle Ages to the present. It left me wanting to believe that there were generations of Romeos and Juliets that existed to try to finally get it right.

I love anything by Dennis Lahane! Especially the Angie and Patrick series. Gritty, over-the-top, lots of serial killers, insane criminals, drug dealers, ex-cons, etc. Great for a long flight or the pool.

This book was a gift from my mother, and I love it. The poems are beautiful, but I tend to like the spanish versions better. The english version are on the opposite page which is helpful in case you don't know some of the vocabulary. Neruda is an amazing poet, and these poems are worth reading several times over just to get all of the nuances.

Inspiring, but gets new agish towards the end in speaking of humans ruining the planet. Can be negative on educational systems, also. But his writings on what our passion or element is, how it is found and developed are top notch so I highly recommend this book.
