** spoiler alert ** One and a half stars of those 3 are simply for the idea. Genius. I took one full star away for the atrocious illustrations inside. The cover design was so excellent, I guess I expected more art direction inside. But man those drawings are bad. Also, lots of balls jokes. Which, while funny, and yes I'm mindful that I'm reading a zombie book, seemed out of place. I mean, I can accept Elizabeth wielding a katana (not to mention munching on the still beating heart of a ninja) but I can't see Mr. Darcy, in mixed company, making a balls joke. In any case, it seems designed to appeal to people like me (who embrace the literary but also embrace the zombies...tho' not literally), and so I'm pleased this book is in the world. RA: It will either appeal to a reader or it won't; it's the concept or nothing with this book...all the good writing is Austen's already. And familiarity with P&P is definitely useful.

This book lays out a very nice range of garden plans, including ones for beginners and very small gardens, to huge gardens for pros. Most are multi-year plans, a huge plus, so that you learn as you go. Includes detailed lists for supplies, seeds, and plants for every project, a timeline, and how-to info. Additional sections on organic gardening in general. A great resource if you don't know how to start, or if you need to have the possibilities reigned in (that's me!).
