I'll have to admit, this is the first Picoult book I have ever read. I have stayed away from her work, based on hearing brief synopses of two of her other books from friends. (Friends who can't stand Picoult. LOL.) The topics just did not interest me, nor did the plots and plot devices, once they were revealed to me by friends. However, I saw this book sitting on a table in B&N and decided to pick it up. Much to my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a quick, easy read and it maintained my interest. Maybe I should rethink reading her other works???
